Pooches and People

A warm welcome and thank you for visiting our website. IM Art Photography is based on the Wirral in the North West of England and is owned by photographer Martin Smith. We are specialists in dog and people photography, and can shoot on location or in your own home. We are proud to have been accepted as part of the national Shutterpreneur group of portrait photographers.

“Our Portraiture experience with Martin was wonderful”

Martin is well-known for his creativity and engaging approach as well as his passion to create beautiful portraiture. Martin says, “I love the stories that photographs can tell and the emotions that they can invoke. We live such fast-paced lives that time just seems to disappear. Before we know it, tomorrow has become yesterday, last week, even last year. If the last few years have taught us anything, it is that we all need to take time out and celebrate life. Our portraiture experience - from planning the shoot with you through to the final images - is designed to help us do just that.”

“Martin’s images really brought our memories to life”

IM Art Photography seeks to bring memories to life through photography. We are passionate about creating beautiful art, from gallery-quality framed prints of your treasured pooch to one of our portrait albums. A photo shoot experience with us is really relaxed, and is all about you (or your children or dogs!). Our goal is to create images that can have pride of place in your home for years to come.

We were super-excited to have won the national Xperience Portrait Awards for Boudoir Photography.

There were some wonderful entries from amazing studios throughout the country, so we are thrilled to have been given this this honour.

Here is the winning photograph. We wanted to create an image with a really intimate feel, and to give that sense of the subject being alone with her thoughts.

Getting the lighting and the angles right was definitely a challenge as we were working in quite a small space, but we had a blast creating the shot and we are so pleased with the final image.

Delighted to have been shortlisted again for the Xperience Awards for both the Dogs on Location and Boudoir categories. Click here for more of our recent awards.
